Health care reform
Health care reform is the number one issue in our country and the ongoing debate will continue to intensify with Congress returning from its recess next week. Our company strongly supports comprehensive reform that provides universal access, improves quality and safety, and reduces health care costs. For more information see the Vision of Reform.
The national conversation has strayed from finding policy solutions that will address the root cause issues of access, quality and cost.
In this regard, our company and more than 50 other insurers across the U.S. have been asked to provide Congress a detailed account of our business practices, including our executive compensation strategies and our administrative costs. Although we believe this effort shifts the focus away from talking about real policy solutions needed for comprehensive health care reform, we're responding to this request with openness, honesty and transparency.
