Nashville, Tenn. and Jacksonville, Fla., December 13, 2013 – Florida Blue and HCA announced today a contract renewal that ensures Florida Blue members will continue to have access to high quality care at HCA’s 42 hospitals and 32 surgery centers throughout Florida.
The contract includes Florida Blue’s BlueCare® (Health Options); BlueChoice® (PPC); BlueOptionsSM (NetworkBlue); Advantage65; BlueMedicareSM HMO; BlueMedicare SM PPO; and traditional indemnity plans.
HCA hospitals in Florida are among the state’s leading healthcare providers and are responsible for more than 2.8 million patient encounters annually. Recently, 80 percent of HCA hospitals in Florida were named 2013 “Top Performers on Key Quality Measures” by The Joint Commission, the hospital industry's primary accrediting body.
